Nutritionist, therapist Galina Leontieva told how to choose the right sports nutrition for maximum training results.

According to her, a proper diet is the basis for successful workouts, so you shouldn't ignore regular nutrition by adding dietary supplements to your diet. Protein can be obtained from fish, meat, eggs, dairy products, and legumes. If there is a shortage of protein products, you can use protein shakes and functional nutrition, but not as a substitute for the main diet.
It is also important to consume enough carbohydrates. They can be obtained from bread and rolls, cereals, potatoes, vegetables and fruits. Fats, which are also necessary for the body, can be obtained from seeds, nuts, vegetable oils, fish and avocados. The doctor stressed that you should not forget about replenishing water reserves before, during and after training, because during physical exertion the body loses a lot of fluid.
Leontieva also listed the types of sports nutrition. These can be protein powders, gainers, amino acid supplements, pre-workout complexes, creatine, carbohydrate gels and drinks, electrolyte drinks, bars and snacks, vitamins and minerals. It is recommended to consult a doctor or a nutrition specialist before taking any supplements, the nutritionist concluded.
