A psychosomatologist spoke about the impact of emotions on physical health


Ekaterina Tur, a psychosomatologist, neuropsychologist, and founder of the largest psychosomatic community in Russia, explained how emotions affect physical health.
In an interview with Radio 1 on April 18, the expert noted that psychosomatics is a science, it is a branch of medicine that studies the influence of emotions on human physical health.
"It's worth sitting a little bit, worrying over the usual, and your head starts to hurt, suddenly you get a runny nose, a cold, stomach cramps, and so on," explained Tur.
According to her, the reproductive system of women directly depends on the internal neurohumoral regulation, which is directly affected by stress. Tur emphasized that the female body remembers stress and over time can turn it into diseases — the same thing happens with emotions.
"Anxiety, fears, and restless thoughts that we get stuck in turn into sleep disorders and mood swings. It's unsettling," she explained.
Tur added that it is always important to live through any emotions in order to "feel at home inside yourself."
