Putin called the untimely indexation of utility tariffs a blow to the pocket of citizens

The late indexation of tariffs for housing and communal services (housing and communal services) is an "unjustified" blow to the pocket of citizens. This was announced on April 21 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the heads of municipalities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

"Making a decision on indexation in a year, two, or three years seems impossible without federal subsidies, because such blows to the pockets of citizens are unjustified," the head of state stressed.

Natalia Kazantseva, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Policy and Economic Measurements at the State University of Management, warned on March 4 that the indexation of tariffs for housing and communal services awaits Russians in July 2025. According to her, the decision to cancel the increased penalties for housing and communal services has been extended until the end of 2026.
