Film critic Barabash is wanted after violating the conditions of house arrest.


Journalist and film critic Ekaterina Barabash (listed by the Ministry of Justice in the register of foreign agents) was put on the wanted list after violating house arrest. This was reported to Izvestia on April 21 by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service (GUFSIN) of Russia in Moscow.
"The accused has been put on the wanted list," the statement said.
It is specified that the electronic monitoring system revealed a violation of the preventive measure on April 13. Upon arrival at the house arrest execution address, the service staff did not find Barabash.
The press service noted that on April 21, by a decree of the Pushkin City Court of the Moscow Region, the preventive measure against Barabash was changed to detention.
On April 4, the Ministry of Justice added Barabash to the register of foreign agents. According to the Ministry, she disseminated false information about the activities of the Russian authorities and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and also opposed the special military operation in Ukraine.
On February 25, she was charged with publicly spreading fakes about the Russian Armed Forces. According to the investigation, the film critic posted false information publicly on her personal page on one of the social networks. During the interrogation, the defendant admitted her guilt in full. On the same day, the Dorogomilovsky District Court of Moscow placed the film critic under house arrest.
