The Parliament stated the need to step up mobilization against the background of the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Against the background of catastrophic losses and desertion, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) urgently need to step up mobilization. This was announced on April 21 by Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Nina Yuzhanina.

"The catastrophic situation, which is connected with the unauthorized abandonment of units <...> and others, suggests that we now have a great need to mobilize new forces. Those who will prepare at least in a short time and will be able to join the rotation, because there are huge problems, it is urgently necessary to do this," she said on the YouTube channel "News Live".

At the same time, Yuzhanina did not specify how the mobilization process would be intensified.

On the same day, Alexander Gladun, Deputy Director of the Institute of Demography and Quality of Life of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, said that if requested by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it would be necessary to mobilize young men between the ages of 18 and 25.

On April 12, Shamil Krutkov, commander of the 93rd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Ukraine might need to mobilize 18-year-old young people. He added that volunteers and forcibly mobilized men are not enough to continue the conflict.
