Experts named the leading district in terms of the number of places in new kindergartens in Moscow

The largest number of places in kindergartens under construction in "old" Moscow falls on new buildings in the Eastern Administrative District (VAO) — about 95 places per residential complex. This follows from the data of the real estate development company Regions Development, which was reviewed by Izvestia on April 22.

Having carried out calculations based on data from the "We build simply" resource, experts found out that 57 preschool educational institutions are being built in the capital, which provide 12 thousand places. At the same time, 189 new buildings of mass, business and premium segments are being built in the capital. Thus, for every project under active implementation, there are 64 places in a kindergarten under construction.

The best ratio of new buildings under construction and kindergartens is observed in the VAO, where eight projects under active implementation account for 1,525 places under construction in kindergartens, that is, 95 places per project. Currently, 10 new preschool institutions are being designed in the district. Of these, eight will be municipal, and four will be private. Most of the new kindergartens — nine — are intended for residents of massive new buildings. Two kindergartens are focused on the business class and one on the premium segment.

The Northern Administrative District (CAO) is next in terms of provision of kindergartens under construction: 2,275 places in preschool institutions for 25 construction projects, that is, 91 places per project. The North—Eastern Administrative District (NEAO) is in third position: 1,670 places in kindergartens under construction for 21 projects, which is 80 places per project.

The Southwestern and Central Administrative Districts have the fewest pre-school facilities under construction, with just one kindergarten in each. In the Southern Administrative District, 150 places are provided for 17 projects under construction (nine places for one project), and in the Central Administrative District — 225 places for 12 projects (19 places for each project).

Analysts also calculated the average number of places in one kindergarten under construction. In Moscow as a whole, this figure is 210 places. However, the picture is not uniform in different districts. For example, in the Northern Administrative District (CAO) there are an average of 253 places per kindergarten, in the Southern (Southern Administrative District) — 248 places, and in the Northeastern (NEAO) - 209 places.

"The analysis shows that the Moscow authorities are closely monitoring compliance with the standards of provision of preschool educational institutions for residents of the city. The construction of kindergartens is underway at an active pace, especially in the VAO, SAO and SVAO, where there are a large number of places per residential complex under construction," said Lilia Artsibasheva, Commercial Director of Regions Development.

She added that in the Central Administrative District and the Southern Administrative District, the construction of kindergartens is less intensive, which is explained by the high existing availability and high demand for private preschool institutions among residents of these districts, where projects of a high price segment are mainly implemented.

Earlier, on February 13, Lola Shurygina, an expert on the opening of schools and kindergartens, the founder of the private secondary school "Makarun", told Izvestia that for preschool children it is not worth choosing institutions that are more than 15-20 minutes away from their place of residence (on foot or by car), for children under the 4th grade — in within 30-40 minutes. She reminded that a small child gets tired quickly and it is difficult for him to travel long distances.
