The CRPT told about the blocking of sales of 5.3 million dietary supplements

Since January 2025, the sale of 5.3 million biologically active additives has been blocked at the cash registers, the press service of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT) told Izvestia.
"The largest volume of blockages, which is 1.7 million products, occurred in an attempt to sell them again. The top 3 also includes dietary supplements that were suspected of adulteration, with 1.2 million products, and 2 million products found to have violations by manufacturers," the CRPT noted.
The permissive regime will be introduced at the cash desks gradually, starting from April 1, 2024. Currently, it applies to 14 product groups and implies a ban on the sale of unmarked goods, based on data from the state information system Honest Sign.
Recall that at the end of last year, about 6 million dangerous dietary supplements, which include lithium, melatonin and simethicone, were blocked in Russia at the request of Rospotrebnadzor.
Maxim Protasov, head of Roskachestvo, noted that in 2024, the largest number of counterfeit products were identified among biologically active additives. With the introduction of a permissive regime since January 2025, the cash registers have blocked the sale of more than 105 thousand such dietary supplements. This mechanism protects both buyers and sellers who may accidentally try to sell prohibited goods.
Earlier on April 16, Izvestia found out during the investigation that the weight loss drugs "Molecule" and "Molecule Plus", which gained popularity thanks to videos on the TikTok social network, contain sibutramine. At the same time, the instructions indicate that the composition of the dietary supplement contains only natural herbal ingredients. Rospotrebnadzor has prepared a requirement to provide documents on the drug content in the popular weight loss products "Molecule" and "Molecule plus".
The victim Polina Khlypovka, who took the "Molecule" pills for weight loss, shared on the same day in an interview with Izvestia that she was "at her maximum weight" as a result of using the drug. The girl took pills for two months, suffering from unbearable thirst and sweating.
