- The State Duma assessed Kiev's willingness to give up territories for the sake of peace

For President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, political recognition of any territories today means a departure from all that he stated earlier, trying to influence nationalists. This was stated by State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa on Monday, April 21.
Earlier, Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky said that the rejection of other regions would be a settled issue if Zelensky was forced to recognize Crimea as Russian, RT reports. He also suggested that Moscow and Kiev are currently at the point of the greatest likelihood of a truce.
According to Chepa, Zelensky will do as he is told by NATO. At the same time, the parliamentarian noted that Western leaders have an ambiguous opinion about the end of the conflict, so the Ukrainian leader uses this situation to delay the decision.
"In any case, he will do as the Americans say. There will be an installation to recognize Crimea, and if this does not happen, then all further talks about a peace treaty will remain questionable," the deputy said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal newspaper wrote that the administration of US President Donald Trump offered Ukraine conditions for ending the conflict, including the possible recognition by the United States of Crimea as part of Russia and the refusal to join NATO, according to the website. kp.ru .
The article clarifies that Washington does not intend to limit military assistance to Kiev or block the idea of deploying European troops on Ukrainian territory, Regnum news agency reports.
On April 18, Bloomberg reported that the United States may recognize Crimea as Russian territory in the course of a settlement deal in Ukraine between Kiev and Moscow. At the same time, it was noted that the American side has not yet made a final decision, NSN reports.
On April 17, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recalled that the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR), as well as the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, are an integral part of the Russian Federation.
The next day, Andrei Klimov, deputy representative of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, told Izvestia that Stephen Witkoff, the US President's special envoy for the Middle East, who did not recognize all new territories of the Russian Federation, could be commented on with the phrase "bargaining is inappropriate here."
