Experts named popular vacation destinations among pensioners
Russians aged 60 and older began to travel more during the May holidays: older tourists purchased 43% more tours for this period, both for traveling around the country and to other countries. These conclusions were reached by analysts of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT), the service "Fly.<url>" and NPF "The Future", having analyzed the demand for travel services among Russians aged "60+" for this and last year. The study was reviewed by Izvestia on April 21.
According to the study, the top five cities where elderly tourists travel most frequently during the May holidays include Moscow (33%), St. Petersburg (16.4%), Yekaterinburg (9.8%), Kazan (3.2%) and Sochi (2.5%). Last year, Russian pensioners mostly flew out of the capital, but this year there has been a shift in focus to the regions, among which Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Sochi stand out.
During the May holidays, Russian pensioners most often choose to travel to such foreign destinations as Turkey, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Abkhazia. There is a particularly noticeable increase in interest in Egypt, where demand increased by 87% compared to last year, as well as in the UAE, where it increased by 55.5%. In addition, analysts note a significant increase in interest in traveling to China and Vietnam compared to single requests last year.
Earlier, on April 15, Izvestia got acquainted with the results of a study of the Work service.<url>", the companies "SberAuto" and "Citydrive" and found out what the Russians plan to do during the May holidays. It turned out that among the Russians surveyed, 21% of respondents plan to relax in their country during the May holidays, and 18% are going to barbecue. At the same time, 16% will go to visit their parents or other relatives, 11% of the respondents will go on vacation to another city. For 15% of respondents, the May holidays are a time of working in the garden, preparing for the summer season.
