Denis Solomatin, head of the Personnel Training and Development Department at Rosgosstrakh Life, told Izvestia on April 22 about how to choose a really useful practice.

According to the expert, modern employers expect young professionals to be ready for full-time work immediately after graduation. In this situation, a well-chosen internship can be a crucial factor for quick employment. However, Solomatin warned that not all practice programs are equally useful.

"To choose the right place for an internship, first of all you need to understand what the applicant wants to do. It depends on how quickly he gets to the goal. If this is difficult, and there are several options to choose between, you should try different things," the specialist explained.

"Going to a formal job where you won't learn anything new and useful in the future, and you will be formally signed off on an internship, is a pointless waste of time," he added.

The expert attached particular importance to the presence of a mentor in the company. According to him, an experienced supervisor who is ready to share knowledge makes the internship much more effective. At the same time, Solomatin advised not to focus on finding exclusively paid programs.

"The number of successful internships and the experience gained from them will help you find a job quickly and with a good salary," the specialist concluded.
