Forecaster predicted sleet over the weekend in Moscow

A cold snap is expected in Moscow and the region during the week from April 21 to 27. So, on Sunday night, the air temperature may reach negative values, and in the afternoon Muscovites will face sleet. Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, told Izvestia about this on April 21.

"Indeed, we expect a significant drop in temperature by the weekend. Nevertheless, it will rain from time to time on Saturday, inclusive, but on the 27th, indeed, individual models indicate that we may receive sleet, but this does not mean at all that snow will fall on the surface of the earth and so on," the forecaster warned.

According to her, this temperature is considered the norm for the end of April. By the end of the week in Moscow, the thermometer will reach +5 degrees at night and +10...+11 degrees during the day. In the Moscow region +3...+8 degrees at night, during the day — +8...+13 degrees. The specialist explained that at the beginning of the week the air temperature exceeds the norm, but by the end of the week it will be slightly below normal.

"In general, such significant temperature changes during the week, they are, of course, extremely unfavorable for all people in general, and especially for weather-sensitive people. We perceive unfavorably both a sharp increase in temperature and a sharp decrease in it," the forecaster noted.

Earlier, on April 21, experts from the online hotel and apartment booking service Ostrovok told Izvestia the best destinations for beach holidays in 2025. One of the main destinations for this season's beach holidays will be Crimea. At the moment, there is an increased interest in holidays in the republic — the number of bookings for the summer is 16% ahead of last year's figures.
