On May 6, the viju streaming service will exclusively show the premiere of the British historical drama "Miss Austen." The series is based on the bestseller by Jill Hornby. The film adaptation has already won recognition and received high marks from critics abroad.

The series begins in 1830, when Cassandra arrives at the old mansion of her close friend Isabella Fowle. At first glance, this is just a friendly visit, but in fact, the heroine is driven by a desperate desire to hide her sister's last secret. Through her memories, viewers will enter a world where a woman's happiness depends on the opinion of society, and true feelings must be hidden under the mask of decency. Four episodes reveal this drama in great detail, making you think about how expensive love can sometimes be.

Cassandra Austin was portrayed on the screen by British television star Keely Howes ("The Bodyguard", "The Darrels"), whose expressive gaze conveys emotions more vividly than any words. Her character is both brave and vulnerable, cold and deeply sensitive. Jane Austen was played by the talented Patsy Ferrand ("The White Bird: A new miracle", "Black Mirror"). She created the image of a lively, brave and passionate woman who is not afraid to commit strong acts. In the role of Isabella Fowle is the bright and emotional Rose Leslie ("Game of Thrones"), who perfectly conveyed the inner contradictions of her character.

Director Aisling Walsh and screenwriter Andrea Gibb (BAFTA Award winner) have created not just a historical drama, but a visual masterpiece filled with mystery and romance. Each scene of the series is a picture painted with warmth and tenderness, where the atmosphere of Victorian England is perfectly conveyed. The touching melodies of composer Dominic Scherrer ("Miss Marple") engage in action, making you forget about reality and feel like a part of that distant time.
