Murashko donated blood as part of the campaign for the National Donor Day

Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko donated blood as part of an action dedicated to the National Donor Day in the Russian Federation. This was announced on April 21 by a correspondent of Izvestia.
"Donation is a civic duty and an opportunity to help a loved one, each of us. In 2024, 1.5 million people donated their blood, and 365 thousand people joined the ranks of donors," the minister said.
Murashko stressed that thanks to donation, it is possible to save a person or give their blood for the production of medicines that will make life easier for sick people. According to the head of the Ministry of Health, during the period of a special military operation, donor assistance is a particularly important procedure.
"Today, by holding an action in our country, we urge you to be responsible and join the ranks of donors," the minister said.
Other employees of the Ministry of Health also took part in the action on the basis of the mobile blood collection complex of the Bakulev National Research Medical Center for Cardiovascular Surgery.
In March, Olga Ugrak, an analytical psychologist and expert of the educational project on blood and plasma donation "+Ya", stated that in order to popularize donation, it is necessary to actively tell who is helped by donated blood and plasma. So, according to her, many people are sure that transfusions are needed only for people who have been injured, but in fact, blood components save very different patients, for example, they help to preserve pregnancy in the face of the threat of miscarriage.
