The Ministry of Emergency Situations has sent an airmobile group to control forest fires in Transbaikalia

An airmobile group has been sent from Khabarovsk to the Trans-Baikal Territory to control the fire situation in the region. This was announced on April 21 by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

This instruction was given by the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov. At the same time, Tungokochensky district is under special control, where work is underway to eliminate 21 forest fires on a total area of 113 thousand hectares.

It is noted that the airmobile group of the Amur Rescue Center from Khabarovsk consists of 50 people and seven pieces of equipment. The ministry also clarified that at the moment, four forest fires out of 47 have been localized, and six more have been completely eliminated.

Earlier that day, Kurenkov and the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Alexander Kozlov, arrived in the Trans-Baikal Territory. It is noted that they will fly around the areas that were most severely affected by the fires.

The Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Alexander Osipov, announced on April 7 that a regional emergency regime had been introduced in the region in connection with forest fires. According to him, almost all fires in Transbaikalia since the beginning of the year have been caused by humans.
