Gatti, the former goalkeeper of the Argentina national football team, has died at the age of 80.

Former goalkeeper of the Argentina national football team Hugo Gatti died at the age of 81. This was announced on April 20 by the AS portal.

They noted that the athlete died in a hospital in Buenos Aires, where he got about two months ago after an accident. Gatti then needed hip surgery.

"In recent days, a hospital infection has complicated his recovery and ultimately cost him his life," the newspaper said.

Gatti has played 18 matches for the national team of Argentina. During his career, the goalkeeper played for the football clubs Atlanta, River Plate, Himnasia and Esgrima, Union Santa Fe and Boca Juniors. As part of the latter, Gatti won the Copa Libertadores twice and the Intercontinental Cup once.
