In Novosibirsk, a retaining wall collapsed on the road

In the Central district of Novosibirsk, a retaining wall collapsed onto a highway. Traffic was blocked in two of the three lanes. Maxim Kudryavtsev, the mayor of the region, told about this on April 21.

"A working meeting on the situation with the collapse of the retaining wall on Hippodromskaya Street near the intersection with [the street] has just ended. Gogol, which happened early in the morning," he said in his Telegram channel.

It was decided to introduce a high-alert mode on the road. At the moment, the city services are working to eliminate the consequences of the accident. They will also conduct a comprehensive inspection of all structures.

The areas in the collapse area will be checked soon, while the rest will be checked within a month. During the day, specialists will dismantle collapsed structures and piles of soil. It is also planned to restore traffic along the Hippodrome highway in two of the three lanes.

On April 13, the Ministry of Transport and Road Management of Sakhalin reported on the collapse of part of the road at the culvert location in the south-west of the region, which is why the authorities banned traffic on the site for all types of transport. The collapse occurred due to flooding by meltwater.

On April 14, the press service of the Sakhalin Region Prosecutor's Office informed about the organization of an investigation into the incident. A pre-investigation check was also organized, the regional investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Russia added.
