The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Alexander Kozlov, arrived in the Trans-Baikal Territory, where they will assess the situation with wildfires. This was announced on Monday, April 21, by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"The ministers will assess the operational situation in the region as a result of major wildfires," the ministry said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

Kurenkov and Kozlov will fly around the areas that were most severely affected by the fires.

A state of emergency has been introduced in three regions.

The Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Alexander Osipov, announced on April 7 that a regional emergency regime had been introduced in the region in connection with forest fires. According to him, almost all fires in Transbaikalia since the beginning of the year have been caused by humans.
