An Orthodox Easter service was held in the capital of Guinea for the first time.

In the capital of Guinea, Conakry, the first Orthodox Easter service in the country was held at the Russian Embassy. This was announced on April 20 by the Russian diplomatic mission in the Telegram channel.
"The Great Orthodox Church holiday was celebrated in Guinea for the first time. With the blessing of the African Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Father Georgy Maximov conducted the liturgy," the statement said.
It is specified that dozens of people attended the solemn service. Among them are Russian diplomats and their family members, compatriots from the Russian Federation, as well as Orthodox Christians from other countries.
Earlier in the day, a solemn service conducted by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia was held at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The festive service began with a religious procession, paying tribute to the procession of myrrh-bearing women who marched on the eve of dawn to the tomb of Jesus Christ.
