Zakharova reported on the use of the HIMARS system by the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the Easter truce.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) violated the Easter truce using the American multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) HIMARS. This was announced on April 20 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

In her Telegram channel, she commented on the statements of the US State Department, in which they expressed hopes for an extension of the ceasefire after Easter.

"It [the truce] was not respected by the Kiev regime during Easter either. Moreover, American HIMARS weapons were used at Bankova to violate the truce," Zakharova said.

She recalled that Ukraine did not comply with its agreements on the cessation of strikes on energy infrastructure facilities.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces, violating the announced Easter truce, tried to attack the settlements of Sukhaya Balka and Bogatyr in the Donetsk People's Republic, their attacks were repelled. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces used 48 aircraft-type drones at night. One of them was sent to the territory of Crimea.

On April 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced an Easter truce in a special operation to protect Donbass during a meeting with the head of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov. The Head of State noted that Kiev's compliance with the truce regime would show how sincerely Kiev was striving for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
