On April 20, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia told the ISS crew about his long-standing dream of becoming an astronaut. This was reported by the patriarch's press service on the VKontakte social network.

It is specified that the traditional Easter teleconference organized by the patriarch with the Russian cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) took place from the hall of the Supreme Church Council in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Communication was established via a video channel provided by the Mission Control Center and VGTRK.

Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov, Alexey Zubritsky and Kirill Peskov participated in the conversation with the patriarch.

The primate of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) noted that space flights represent true heroism, and astronauts carry out an important mission for the country.

"I once had a dream — to fly into space. I discussed this with some sober—minded people, and they said, "Probably the priests of your generation will not fly yet," he shared with the crew.

The cosmonauts, in turn, congratulated the Patriarch and all Orthodox Russians on the feast of the Resurrection of Christ.

On April 19, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia held Vespers with the reading of 15 paremias and the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. The patriarch also consecrated Easter cakes and eggs.
