One person died as a result of a fire in a village in Karelia, where grass, forest and seven farm buildings caught fire. This was announced on April 20 by the State Committee of the Republic for Ensuring the Vital Activity and Safety of the Population.

"The EDDS of Belomorsk today received a message that grass is burning in the village of Sosnovets, and the fire is spreading to outbuildings and cellars, threatening country houses," the committee's website says.

Firefighters were sent to the scene. Eight specialists, two tanker trucks and a motor pump took part in the extinguishing. Currently, open gorenje has been localized, the spread of fire to residential buildings has been prevented.

According to the committee, the structures are being poured and disassembled. As a result of the fire, seven small outbuildings burned down, the total area of the fire was 5 thousand square meters.

On the same day, six buildings burned down in the village of Yeropkino in the Nizhny Novgorod region due to the fall of dead wood. The total area of the fire was more than 15 thousand square meters. m. There were no deaths or injuries as a result of the incident.
