Bondarchuk revealed the details of creating the image of Karabas for the fairy tale "Pinocchio"

Actor Fyodor Bondarchuk, who played the role of the main villain Karabas in the fairy tale "Pinocchio", shared interesting details about the creation of his character.

"Igor Pavlovich Voloshin and I (director of photography. There is a tradition emerging: on joint projects, he hides my face under complicated makeup in every possible way, and I play with this "burden". In the "Lord of the Wind" he portrayed Fyodor Konyukhov with a beard and under an oxygen mask," Bondarchuk noted.

According to him, the image of Karabas-Barabas in "Pinocchio" will include powerful foam shoulders, a bulging belly, bright eyebrows in the spirit of the great Etush and a lush beard. The actor noted that working with such makeup on the set requires the help of three people. Nevertheless, Bondarchuk stressed that it is makeup that helps to quickly immerse yourself in the image.

Earlier, the Hydrogen film company and Art Pictures Studio, the National Media Group, the distributor NMG Kinoprokat and Art Pictures Distribution, with the support of the Cinema Foundation, presented the first trailer for the fairy tale "Pinocchio".

In addition, the trailer launch was preceded by a large-scale promotional campaign on the country's largest digital screens with the support of VK Video: video posters with the main characters of the new Pinocchio performed by Fyodor Bondarchuk, Alexander Petrov appeared in Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, St. Petersburg and Moscow. Victoria Isakova, Alexander Yatsenko, Ruzil Minekaev, Mark Eidelstein, Lev Zulkarnaev, Anastasia Talyzina and Stepan Belozerov.

The fairy tale "Pinocchio" will be released in wide release on January 1, 2026.
