Easter morning services were held in Italy and Greece


Easter morning services were held in Orthodox churches in Bari and Athens. Footage from the scene of the April 20 events is published by Izvestia.
In Athens, divine services were held at the Cathedral of Agia Fotini. In the Italian city of Bari, Orthodox residents gathered at the Patriarchal Compound of St. Nicholas.
The priests in the churches, together with the choir, sang the Easter canon, after which the parishioners could light candles and consecrate Easter food.
Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated all Orthodox Christians on Easter. The Head of State noted that the Russian Orthodox Church and other branches, among other things, help educate young people and strengthen family values.
