In Russia, experts extinguished about 48 forest fires per day. This was announced on April 20 by the press service of Avialesookhrana.

"According to the information of the regional dispatching services of forestry, over the past day on April 16, 2025 in Russia, forest fire services and involved persons eliminated 48 forest fires in an area covered by 5,772 hectares of fire," the website says.

It is noted that fires have been eliminated in the territories of the Amur, Leningrad, Rostov, Pskov, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Moscow, Omsk, Penza, Samara, Saratov and Ulyanovsk regions, the republics of Buryatia and Altai, Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics (LNR and DNR), Primorsky, Zabaikalsky, Krasnoyarsk and Altai territories.

In addition, 2,774 people, 469 pieces of equipment and four aircraft were involved in extinguishing the fire. 20 aircraft were used in aviation monitoring.

On April 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with the government, demanded a timely response to forest fires and to avoid serious consequences. He noted that in at least eight regions of Russia, the number of forest fires significantly exceeded last year's figures.
