Unknown people opened fire at the Hilton hotel in the center of Berlin in the morning, and at least one person was injured. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on April 20.

"We can confirm that a shot was fired at the hotel. One person is apparently injured. <...> An investigation into the background and course of events is currently underway," the newspaper quoted a representative of the Berlin police control center as saying.

The shooting occurred at 04:45 (05:45 Moscow time). The police are looking for at least two suspects.

As the newspaper pointed out, there is a nightclub in the hotel where there could be a quarrel between visitors. However, law enforcement officers have not provided any details yet.

Earlier, on February 26, in the German city of Bielefeld, several people were injured in a shooting outside the courthouse. The shots were fired suddenly after the end of the main hearing in the case of former European champion according to the International Boxing Federation (IBF), boxer Besar Nimani.
