Former US military officer compared New York to Moscow
New York is inferior to Moscow in terms of cleanliness and well-groomed streets. This was announced on April 19 by Dan Castle, an American veteran of the war in Afghanistan, on the Wild Siberia YouTube channel.
"It almost looks like the post-apocalypse because of the conditions on the street. It looks very dirty. There's so much going on there [in New York]. That's probably why they call New York the concrete jungle, because it really looks like a jungle," the blogger said.
In addition, comparing the two videos showing the streets of Moscow and New York, he noted that there is a huge difference. Castle stressed that Moscow's neighborhoods are cleaner, there is no garbage and no homeless people. In his opinion, it is important to compare these two megacities because they are the richest in their respective countries.
"I want my country to be on the same level as Russia," Castle added.
Bloomberg reported on December 27, 2024, that the number of homeless people in the United States has reached a historic high. In January 2024, almost 772,000 people were declared homeless, which is 18% more than in 2023.
