A 69-year-old man was killed in a car accident on the 23rd kilometer of the Novokuznetsk—Myski—Mezhdurechensk highway. This was announced on April 20 by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Kemerovo region — Kuzbass.

"The traffic accident occurred today at about 05:50 (local time, 1:50 Moscow time. — Ed.) on the 23rd kilometer of the Novokuznetsk — Myski— Mezhdurechensk highway. Employees of the state traffic inspectorate and the investigative task force of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Mysky immediately arrived at the scene," the Telegram channel says.

It was previously established that the 39-year-old driver of a KamAZ tractor could not control the vehicle and drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a NefAZ bus. The ministry added that the 69-year-old bus driver died as a result. At the same time, there were no passengers in the transport at the time of the accident.

The regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs indicated that all the circumstances of the incident are being established. In addition, the issue of initiating a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles") is being resolved.

Earlier, on April 19, a man was killed in an accident in the Irkutsk region, which was triggered by driving into the oncoming lane. The driver of the other car needed medical attention, and he will continue his treatment on an outpatient basis.
