Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Starooskolsky considers important the truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in honor of Easter. He told Izvestia about this on April 20.
"The Easter truce is important because every time in the church we feel that an air raid alarm may sound," John emphasized.
According to the clergyman, the temporary ceasefire was good news for believers who planned to participate in church services or religious processions.
On April 19, Putin announced the Easter truce. At the same time, he stressed that the Russian military should be prepared for possible violations and provocations by Ukrainian militants. On the same day, Zelensky declared Ukraine's readiness to adhere to the Easter truce.
