Traffic for ships was blocked at the Kochetovsky hydroelectric complex of the Don River in the Rostov region due to the collision of a motor ship with the lower gate. This was announced on Sunday, April 20, on the website of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

"In the city of Semikarakorsk at the Kochetovsky hydroelectric power plant, the motor ship Alfa (flag of the Russian Federation), entering the hydroelectric power plant chamber, made a pile on the lower gate with the bow of the vessel," the agency's publication says.

They added that the extent of damage to the gates and the ship itself is still being clarified.

There was no filling of petroleum products. Information about the victims is not provided.

Ten specialists and four pieces of equipment are currently working at the site.
