Huawei and China Unicom launch China's first 10G network

Telecommunications companies Huawei and China Unicom have joined forces to launch the first 10G broadband network in the Xiong'an region of China's Hebei Province. This was reported on April 19 by the Mydrivers portal.
"The deployment of 10G broadband is based on the world's leading 50G PON solution. Due to the modernization of the basic architecture of the fiber—optic access network, the bandwidth for a single user is increased from the traditional gigabit level to the 10G level, and network latency is reduced to the level of milliseconds," the material says.
It is specified that in the house of one of the users connected to the new network, the Internet download speed reached 9834 Mbps. The data transfer rate was 1008 Mbit/s, with a "stable" delay of only three milliseconds.
"For ordinary users, 10G broadband Internet access means not only an increase in Internet speed, but also a revolution in lifestyle," Mydrivers reports.
On April 4, it became known that the Ministry of Finance is considering holding an auction for the right to use 5G frequencies in the second half of 2025. According to one of Izvestia's sources, if the decision to hold auctions is made, frequencies in the range of 4.8–4.99 GHz will be put up for auction. For several years now, the authorities have been calling it the only possible fifth–generation cellular network for mass coverage of Russia: the 3.4-3.8 GHz frequencies optimal from the point of view of communications specialists in the Russian Federation are already occupied by communications facilities of other structures, including power ones, and 5G in higher bands cannot provide wide coverage of populated areas.
