Israel criticized France's decision to recognize a Palestinian state

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar considers the plans of the French authorities to officially recognize Palestine as a state to be a mistake. He stated this on April 19 in an interview with The Telegraph.
"I think it would be a serious mistake for France to do this. They will lose regional influence, they will damage their positions. They will not create a Palestinian state with this desired or imagined solution," he said.
According to him, before that, many other states recognized the sovereignty of Palestine, but this one did not change the "reality on the ground."
On April 11, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared the impossibility of peace without the creation of the State of Palestine. He also called on all members of the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), to take responsibility, "stop the bloodshed and support the Palestinian people."
On April 11, Philippe Lazarini, Commissioner General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), said that the only alternative to the agency's activities was the creation of a full-fledged Palestinian state. The head of UNRWA stressed that a solution to the Palestinian issue is necessary to end violence and achieve stability in the region.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced on April 9 that the country could recognize the state of Palestine this summer. According to him, in June France could finalize the movement for mutual recognition of Palestine by several countries.
