Austria appreciates the Easter truce announced by Putin

The truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ukraine in honor of Easter was the right gesture at a good time. This was announced on April 19 by former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl.
"The Easter truce is not something that will be of decisive military importance, but diplomacy and human life often need gestures before they can move on to real measures — military or political. It's a gesture, and the timing is good," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to Kneissl, such an initiative could be a step towards a full-fledged ceasefire in Ukraine.
On April 19, Putin announced the Easter truce. At the same time, he stressed that the Russian military must be ready to repel possible violations and provocations by Ukrainian militants. On the same day, Zelensky declared Ukraine's readiness to adhere to the Easter truce.
