Vucic joked about the opposition with Easter eggs

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic decorated Easter eggs with the inscription "I am chatsi", which means "I am a blockhead" in Russian. He posted the corresponding post on the Instagram social network (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in Russia).
The word "chatsi" in Serbia began to denote students who go to anti-government rallies and protests for a monetary reward.
"That's why I paint eggs for them and take them to Chatziland (that's how the opposition's gathering place in Pioneer Park was named - Ed.) I'm a blockhead too!" he said.
Anti-government protests by students and the opposition began in Serbia after the events of November 2024, when 15 people died as a result of the collapse of the canopy of the railway station in Novi Sad. Shortly after the tragedy, Prime Minister Milos Vucevic and several other politicians resigned.
On March 8, 2025, former Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Vulin said that the West was using the protests of students and opposition figures in Serbia to further clash Belgrade with Moscow. He also announced that Brussels was preparing a project to overthrow Vucic.
