Thousands of people gathered for the Easter service at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior

Those wishing to attend the solemn Easter service began to gather in the Moscow Cathedral of Christ the Savior (XXXX). This was announced on April 19 by Izvestia correspondent Igor Baldin.

Thousands of believers from different cities and states gathered to celebrate Easter in the main church of Russia.

"The mood is festive, very bright, looking forward to the holiday. There are only a few hours left. We are very glad that, with God's help, we happened to be here today," said one of the visitors to the ceremony.

On Sunday, the church will celebrate the miraculous Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

On April 19, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia held Vespers with the reading of 15 paremias and the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. The patriarch also consecrated Easter cakes and eggs.
