Vietnamese cadets will take part in the parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This was reported on April 9 by the Vietnam News newspaper with reference to Major General, Vice Rector of the Army Officer School No. 1 Nguyen Van Thanh.

"68 military personnel from Army Officer School No. 1 are undergoing intensive training to represent the People's Army of Vietnam (VNA) at the parade in Moscow dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Russia's Victory in the Great Patriotic War," the newspaper said.

Men aged 19 to 30 years old and at least 1.8 meters tall were selected to participate in the parade based on their physical fitness and ability to perform precise movements.

According to the newspaper, this is an opportunity for Vietnamese soldiers to demonstrate the might of their army and strengthen friendly relations with Russia.

Earlier, on April 6, Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, during a meeting with Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man, stated the high value of relations with Hanoi for Moscow. In addition, the politicians noted the high intensity of political contacts between Moscow and Hanoi.
