The cakes are made by fighters from different units. But the recipes, judging by their appearance, are quite the same.: this is a special dough, there must be raisins inside and sprinkles on top.

"We will definitely honor all traditions related to Easter. And one of these traditions is to bake cakes, paint eggs, congratulate each other, and give each other Easter joy," Priest Roman Chebonenko, senior member of the mobile clergy group of the Center group of Forces, told Izvestia correspondent Alexander Safiulin.

According to him, the consecration of cakes is a must, because such bread can be baked on any day, but the prayers that are read at the consecration are said only on the eve of Easter and Easter.

"Therefore, bread already acquires a special power, it becomes a blessed bread," said the priest.

He added that the celebration can be held anywhere — in a dugout, a trench, or even in the Central Cathedral.

On Sunday, the church will celebrate the miraculous Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Earlier in the day, employees of the military commandant's office of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and representatives of the Narodnaya Druzhina organization brought festive cakes to Avdiivka. They were consecrated in the city and presented to the residents on the eve of Easter.

Izvestia correspondent Evgeny Bykovsky noted that residential buildings and infrastructure are being restored in the city, including the Church of Mary Magdalene, where the consecration of festive food took place.
