Easter services were held at the Kaliningrad Cathedral of Christ the Savior. This was reported on April 19 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

"We love this holiday very much, we are preparing for the holiday, we clean everything at home, we put everything in order <...> On Saturday, early in the morning, from 6:00 a.m., we paint eggs, bake, buy ready—made Easter curd and rush to the temple to consecrate it all," said Olga Ryabchikova, a parishioner.

The faithful brought cakes, eggs and other dishes to the divine services to receive their blessings for the Easter meal.

Earlier that day, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia held Vespers with the reading of 15 paremias and the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. The patriarch also consecrated Easter cakes and eggs.

On this day, Patriarch Kirill addressed the faithful with an Easter message. In his address, the Patriarch emphasized that the Resurrection of Christ is a solid foundation for faith and hope.
