The Easter ceasefire is being introduced for humanitarian purposes and will be respected by the Russian military if the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) do not violate it. This was announced on April 19 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"The ceasefire is being introduced for humanitarian purposes and will be respected by the Russian Joint Forces Group (forces), subject to its mutual observance by the Kiev regime," the ministry said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
