Iran has expressed its willingness to help Syria form an inclusive government
Iran does not oppose the current Syrian government and is ready to help form an inclusive government if necessary. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araqchi, in an interview with RT on April 19.
"We are not opposed to the new Syrian government and we will not take any action against it," the foreign minister said.
Araqchi added that if Iran is asked for help, the country is always ready to provide support on the path to establishing peace and forming a legitimate and inclusive government in Syria.
On April 17, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani had discussed the situation in Syria in detail. Peskov added that Russia is interested in establishing relations with the new Syrian authorities.
