Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev conveyed a personal message from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This was announced on April 19 by Tokayev's press service.
"By agreement of the presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev, who delivered a personal message from the Russian president," the press service's website says.
It is specified that the prospects of cooperation in the field of energy, which is one of the key areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, were discussed at the meeting.
On April 17, Putin and Tokayev discussed topical issues of cooperation in the energy sector by phone. In addition, the Russian leader shared with his Kazakh counterpart assessments of the progress of the dialogue between the Russian Federation and the United States.
