A monument to Izvestia correspondent Semyon Eremin, who tragically died on April 19, 2024 in a special operation zone while fulfilling his professional duties, was erected at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow.
"The only thing that keeps me afloat is my duty, which I try to fulfill — to preserve the memory of my husband," said the widow Victoria Eremina.
The death of Semyon Eremin became known on April 19, 2024. He was 42 years old. He died while filming a report as a result of an FPV drone attack. The military commander was injured, from which he later died.
Yeremin has been working in the special operation zone since it began in February 2022. As part of the film crew, he was one of the first to report from Volnovakha in March 2022, when Russian troops took down the Ukrainian flag at the entrance to the city. In addition, the journalist was among the first to make materials about the Lancets and the Sunbeams.
