- The NYT reported on the erroneous sending of the Trump administration's demands to Harvard

American officials mistakenly sent a letter to Harvard University containing a number of "burdensome" requirements for the institution. This was reported on April 18 by The New York Times (NYT), citing US officials.
It is clarified that on April 11, the US authorities sent a letter to the university asking it to review its internal policy. Harvard considered these demands excessive, which led to an escalation of the conflict and the suspension of funding in the amount of $ 2.2 billion.
According to the NYT, this letter was not coordinated and was intended solely for internal use by the Joint Task Force on Combating Anti-Semitism.
In addition, Harvard questioned whether such a document could have been sent by mistake, since it was signed by three senior administration officials.
"The Harvard lawyers acted negligently by not calling the anti-Semitism group, which they had been communicating with for several weeks. Instead, they presented themselves as victims," said White House political strategist May Mailman.
On April 14, the Department's task force on combating anti-Semitism announced that the U.S. Department of Education had announced the freezing of grants for Harvard University in the amount of $2.2 billion due to the school's refusal to comply with President Donald Trump's instructions. The unfulfilled tasks of the institution's administration included the closure of programs to ensure "diversity, equality and inclusivity" within the walls of the educational institution.
