An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 occurred on the border of Afghanistan and Tajikistan. This was announced on April 19 by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

The cataclysm affected the Hindu Kush region.

"The depth is 92 km, the distance is 188 km northwest of Mingora (Pakistan), the population is 279 thousand people, at 11:47 local time," the report says.

Tremors were also recorded 61 km southwest of Ishkashim (Tajikistan) with a population of 26 thousand inhabitants.

Earlier, on April 16, it was reported that an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. The earthquake was located at a depth of 121 km. There was no information about damage or casualties.
