Rescuers have recovered the bodies of a man and a child from a lake in the Smolensk region.

An emergency rescue team recovered the bodies of a man and a child from Lake Boznyanskoe in the Smolensk region. This was announced on April 19 by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the region.

"At night, rescuers from the Boznyanskoe lake in the Vyazma district of the emergency management and emergency management department recovered the bodies of two drowned people - a 55—year-old man and an eight—year-old child," the department's Telegram channel said.

Currently, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that since the beginning of the year, 10 people, including two children, have drowned in the reservoirs of the Smolensk region.

On March 28, six children aged 10 to 12 fell through the ice of the Ith River in the Yaroslavl region. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that everyone was able to get ashore, no one was injured.
