The Alina Rhythmic Gymnastics Festival was held at Sirius

The International Children's Charity Rhythmic Gymnastics Festival "Alina" was held in Sirius, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
"Today we want to dedicate our festival to the memory of those who showed their bravery and courage at a young age. These are the young heroes of the Great Patriotic War," said Olympic champion Alina Kabayeva.
One of the performances at the festival was dedicated to Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya. Gymnast Maria Borisova, a graduate of the Heavenly Grace Academy, embodied her image in her number, fighting with dark forces to the music of "One Warrior in the Field." Choreographer Irina Zenovka noted that the production symbolizes the courage that unites Kosmodemyanskaya and Joan of Arc.
In addition, the pupils of the International Academy of Rhythmic Gymnastics "Heavenly Grace" demonstrated the number "Flowers". It is dedicated to the feat of Belarusian underground fighters Zina Portnova and Nina Azolina, who destroyed their enemies at the cost of their lives. In front of the audience, the delicate flowers transformed into steel spikes, ready to strike at the opponents.
It is noted that 372 gymnasts from Russia and other countries took part in the Alina festival this year. The event was organized by the Alina Kabayeva Charitable Foundation, providing free tickets to children from orphanages and with disabilities.
Famous athletes gathered on the same carpet, including four-time Olympic champion in gymnastics Alexei Nemov, as well as Diana and Arina Averin, to present the issue "Heroes of Sports", which tells about sports life in besieged Leningrad. Nemov noted that striving for victory helps to overcome difficulties.
"There is always a desire to win, it always helps a person. And this number unites all the qualities of a person that allow him to work, work and win," Nemov believes.
Kabayeva expressed her gratitude to all the children who performed at the festival, the organizers and the entire team, noting that without their efforts this holiday would not have taken place and would not have reminded everyone of the great story.
Last March, the Alina Gymnastics Festival was held in Minsk. More than 350 athletes from 14 countries visited the venues in Sochi and Belarus, and thousands of gymnasts have performed there throughout its history. Alexey Yushechkin, Technical director of the Alina Festival in Minsk, said that the Minsk Arena had been a great help in turning the hockey stadium into a gymnasium, because the hockey boards were removed very quickly.
