The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mexico is considering the possibility of participating in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). This was announced on Saturday, April 19, by the country's ambassador to Moscow, Eduardo Villegas Mejias.

The Forum will be held from 18 to 21 June.

"Last year, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mexico (CANACINTRA) attended the SPIEF, they signed a number of agreements. As a follow-up to these agreements, the Russia–Mexico Business Forum was held in Mexico City on April 3. This year, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mexico is also considering the possibility of participating in the forum," the diplomatic representative told RIA Novosti.

Villegas added that Roscongress had sent invitations to the forum to certain high-ranking Mexican officials. There was no information yet about whether any of them would arrive.

Earlier, on April 14, Pavel Shinsky, Director General of the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told Izvestia that the organization would participate in the SPIEF this year. It also became known that companies from the USA will take part in the forum.
