- A resident of Ugledar told about the flight of the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants on the eve of the storming of the city

The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) fled from Ugledar in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) on the eve of its storming by the Russian military. Victor, a resident of the city, told about it on Saturday, April 19.
"Literally a day or two [before the assault], the drone operators left here. — Ed.) that were standing. <...> All the officers left, there was no one here," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Victor said that all the locals had locked themselves in the basements during the days of the assault. At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters were running away, leaving not only their weapons, but also their wounded comrades.
Earlier, on April 18, Ukrainian prisoner Roman Zayats reported that Ukrainian soldiers joined the army because of money or to pay off a criminal record. At the same time, he stressed that among prisoners, only those whose remaining term of imprisonment does not exceed five years have the opportunity to join the army.
On April 16, a captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the command leaves the fighters alone when changing locations. He shared that the staff of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) issued him a summons when he was on his way to the market in Poltava.
