Georgy Kantaria, the great-nephew of the Red Army scout Meliton Kantaria, who, together with Mikhail Egorov, hoisted the Victory banner over the Reichstag in 1945, declared the importance of preserving the truth about the Great Patriotic War. He made the corresponding statement on April 19 in an interview with Izvestia.
