Six organizers of illegal gambling have been convicted in Novosibirsk.

In Novosibirsk, six people were convicted of illegally organizing and conducting gambling. This was announced on Saturday, April 19, by the Regional Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

It is specified that the court recognized the evidence for making a verdict. The accomplices were found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal organization and conduct of gambling by a group of persons with the extraction of income on an especially large scale").

According to the Investigative Committee, in the period from December 1, 2021 to February 4, 2022, six Novosibirsk residents distributed the roles of organizers and croupiers and illegally held poker and roulette games in one of the city's premises.

"The defendants in the case disposed of the income received as a result of gambling using gaming equipment at their discretion," the agency said in a Telegram post.

The court sentenced the attackers to imprisonment suspended from 1.5 to two years with a similar probation period.

Earlier, on April 17, in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the investigation opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal organization and conduct of gambling by a group of persons") against six local residents. The details and circumstances of the incident are currently being established.
