The crew of the towed M-46 cannon of the Center group of forces destroyed a camouflaged stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area. This was announced on Saturday, April 19, by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"Military personnel of the 130-mm towed M-46 cannon of the 90th tank Division of the Center group of forces destroyed a camouflaged AFU stronghold in the Red Army area of the special military operation zone," the ministry said.

After the exact coordinates of the target were transferred to the position of the artillery crew, the soldiers aimed the gun and successfully hit the enemy's stronghold disguised in the forest belt with a series of 130-mm high-explosive shells.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the shooting was conducted from a closed firing position at a range of more than 17 km. The fire was corrected by reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), so that the target was destroyed with a minimum number of shots.

After completing the combat mission, the gunners camouflaged the gun and took refuge in a dugout.

"My task is to aim: we aim the gun, [we make] calculations. Basically, the gun is light, it lends itself very well to training. I learned how to work on it in a day. <...> I am very proud of the entire crew, starting from all the officers, for all the boys who take part in the shooting, in the work," said senior gunner Fanil Akhmetkiryaev.
